Open Access On the Development of Optimal Algorithms for the Calculation of Loudness According to Method B of the I SO-Recommendation R-532

In agreement with the ISO recommendation R-532 (Method B), algorithms of the loudness calculations of random noise were suggested which utilise simple nomograms or arithmetical calculations without integration or planimetry. The loudness in the frequency groups and the masking functions in these algorithms were considered dependent one upon the other. By this means the differences between londness levels, calculated in accordance to ISO R 226 and R 532 (Method B) can be minimised. The (parallel) analysis of sound in the time domain can be suitable for the optimisation of a technical measurement of loudness.
