Ultrasonic Study of the Physical Parameters of Pure Organic Liquids
Using ultrasonic velocity data calculations have been made for Rao's molecular velocity (R), Wada's molecular compressibility (β m), Van der Waal's constant (b) and the acoustic impedance (ξ) in the wide temperature range −20 °C to 240 °C for twelve pure liquids, viz., methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl acetates; hexane und heptane, benzene, chlorobenzene, bromobenzene, nitrobenzene, toluene and carbon tetrachloride. Calculating the density and velocity temperature coefficients in the various temperature ranges, attempts have been made to calculate the values of the repulsive potential parameter ν both from Rao's and Wada's relations.
