Calculation of Acoustic Power Radiated by an Electric Machine

As an extension of a recent paper [1], methods are presented for calculating the noise power radiated as a result of surface vibrations of an electric machine having any length-diameter ratio. The analytical results taking account of the phase angle between the sound pressure and the particle velocity and the approximate far field results are verified by comparison with measured results.
