Calculation of Acoustic Power Radiated by Short Electric Machines
A method is described for calculating the acoustic power output of an electric machine which has its diameter approximately equal to its length, by assuming that its surface can be represented by a sphere with travelling waves of vibration of known axial variation moving round it. Experimental
results justify the approximations involved.
