Sound Absorption in Solutions of 2–2-Electrolytes in the Frequency Range 0.3 GHz to 2.8 GHz

The sound absorption in some electrolytic solutions at 20 °C and frequencies between 0.31 GHz and 2.8 GHz is reported. The following solutions have been measured: 0.1 m MgSO4, MnSO4, CoSO4, ZnSO4 and CuSO4, at various concentrations between 0.05 m and 1 m CuSO4 and CoSO4, additionally 1 m NaCl and 5 m NaBr. The sound absorption volume cannot be explained by a single relaxation process and is strongly concentration dependent.
