Measurement of Sound Transmission from Rods to Plates
The sound transmission across the connection of a rod and an infinite plate was measured. The arrangement of rod and plate can be considered as a model for pillar supported ceilings and plates in house and ship constructions. The measurement was done for longitudinal waves as well as
for flexural waves. The results give a fairly good approximation to Cremer's theory.
Furthermore photographs were taken of the wave fields on the plate.
