Über Autokorrelationsmessungen in der Raumakustik
It is shown that the autocorrelation function obtained in rooms leads to statements about a room property which might be called “temporal diffusion”. In terms of measuring technique this is characterized by the ratio between the absolute maximum of the autocorrelation function
and that of the next highest maximum.
As examples measuring results are presented which were obtained with a spiral spring reverberator of the Hammond Organ Company, a reverberation plate, and two natural rooms. These results were achieved by a very simple measuring technique, which is also suitable for measuring the cross-correlation function in rooms.
