Einfluß der Querunterteilung von Absorbern auf die Schallausbreitung in Kanälen
The sound field in a duct with periodically arranged partition walls in an absorbing wall is calculated by spatial Fourier synthesis. Several boundary conditions are given for narrow gaps between the walls which lead to the determination of the field components (spatial harmonics) and to equations for the propagation constant. Numerically computed examples show that partition walls, even thin ones, prevent the realization of the maximum attenuation predicted by Cremer from his theory of a homogeneous absorbing wall. With a comb-line, the periodicity of the wall introduces new attenuation maxima as well as a fluctuating sound pressure and phase along the duct. The measurements agree well with the numerical results.
