Open Access Die Lautstärke pulsierender Geräusche im diffusen Schallfeld eines Hallraumes

Constructional and acoustical properties of the reverberation room at the Institut für Nachrichtentechnik of the Technische Hochschule Stuttgart are described. This reverberation room is exclusively designed for the generation of diffuse sound fields for subjective measurements. Its reverberation time is 2,5 s over a wide frequency range.

This reverberation room was used for loudness comparison between pulsating and continuous noise signals. These measurements would help to determine any eventual influence of the pulse contents of noise signals on the loudness of these signals. The pulsation of the radiated signals was smoothed by the reverberation of the room, but the pulsating component was in most cases clearly observed. It was, as shown by the subjective measurements, without influence on the loudness of the signals.
