Untersuchungen an keramischen elektrostriktiven Stoffen in Abhangigkeit von ihrem Polarisationszustand
A method is described for measuring the intrinsic energy inherent in polarized ceramic materials. When heating a polycrystalline specimen beyond its Curie point, a measurable electrical charge is released. By measuring this charge, the intrinsic field intensity Ei
corresponding to the previous state of polarization can be determined. From the piezo-electric constant δ measured prior to depolarization, and from the intrinsic field intensity Ei
, the electrostriction coefficient γ [1] introduced by Hecht can
be determined. Tests with various materials have shown that γ is a characteristic constant for the properties of the material. For this reason is has been suggested that γ signifies the term “electrostriction constant” [2].
