Open Access Eine Kontrollschallquelle fur breitbandige Mikrofone zur Messung von Druckimpulsen in Fliissigkeiten

A description is given of a test sound source for the generation in liquids of plane, rectangular pressure pulses decaying with time. The repetition time of the pressure pulses is 4 μs; the rise time is 0.1 μs with pressure amplitudes of up to 0.5 atm. The sound source consists of a barium titanate plate charged through a spark gap within a time t < C 0.1 μs. The piezoelectric equations are used to describe the electric and acoustic transients. This renders possible the absolute calibration of the sound pressure in the liquid from electrical measurements only. Examples of measurements with pulse hydrophones are presented.
