Transmission of a transient spherical wave at a plane interface
Using the fact that an incident pressure pulse of delta function character represents a particular solution of the inhomogeneous wave equation, the pressure time process of a transmitted spherical transient wave at a liquid-liquid interface is found by superposition of the pressure
time processes obtained from the transmitted pulses. When solving the problem the author makes use of a method introduced by Cagniard. A brief description of some experimental tests performed with charges detonating above a water surface are also presented in the paper.
