Open Access Amplitude distribution analyzer by means of electronic integrators

Download Article:
A method is described whereby, beside the average value, the amplitude distribution of a signal of any form can be obtained through partial integrations of various amplitude intervals. The method is particularly suitable for analysing phenomena of continuous, although irregular form. The chief advantage of the method lies in its resolution by an electronic analogue computer. Hence, whatever the form and duration of the signal, an accurate result can be obtained with precision and speed. The report gives some examples of application and shows how the type of representation may be used to examine whether the function has a Gaussian distribution.
