Plane condenser electrostatic actuators offer a very simple means for absolute low frequency calibration of modern flat-topped microphones. Various error-sources are analyzed. In the overall calibration of the. microphone, amplifier and indicating instrument, for instance, the total error is easily reduced to some 0,3 dB, by employing ordinary laboratory equipment. By use of more accurate high-voltage meters, a further reduction in error is still possible.
