Open Access Verkettete medumische Impedanzen zur Messung der Körpersdudldämmung an edcen- und kreuzförmigen Stoβ-Stellen (Modellversudie)

The sound damping at joints in buildings was so far determined from the difference of the particle velocity of bending waves in front and behind of such joints. This difference depends, however, on the direction of sound transmission, if the walls and ceilings forming a joint have different properties. In the work at hand the interlinked impedance is found to be the appropriate value for the characterization of the sound damping; as a consequence of the condition of reciprocity the interlinked impedance is independent of the direction of transmission. For simple models of bars a theory is derived for the calculation of the interlinked impedance. Measurements were made with a number of such models in order to check this theory.

It is shown with a number of examples, that it is possible to make use of this theory of joints formed by bars also for joints in buildings. A possibility to determine sound damping of joints without measurements is thereby given.
