Open Access Untersuchungen zur Körperschalldämmung federnd gelagerter Baukonstruktionen

In four broadcasting buildings and on some experimental structures measurements have been made in a large frequency band of the level difference of structure borne sound between different walls and ceilings of the massive buildings as well as between these and the elastically mounted inner shell of the studio. Steel springs, cork, and fibrous materials have been used as elastic elements. The essential results are given and, to some extent, comparison is made with calculations. It is quite obvious that steel springs are by far superior to other elastic materials. Furthermore, the effect of insulation for structureborne sound on the transmission loss for airborne sound in the case of multiple walls and the audibility of different kinds of interfering noise is discussed.
