Gaseous oscillations within a perturbed spherical resonator
A perturbation method is used to investigate theoretically the modes of oscillation of a gas within an almost spherical resonator. It is shown tha t the pressure distribution may be represented by the pure mode together with small contributions from other “forced” modes.
Under some circumstances the resonant frequencies are unperturbed, to the order of approximation adopted.
