Encyclopaedia Iranica (EIr)
The Encyclopaedia Iranica (EIr) covers Iran and Iranian civilization, from the Middle East to Central Asia to China and everything in between. The unifying element between all of these different cultures is language, as many peoples in this geographic terrain speak a dialect of Persian/Farsi. With some 800 articles currently accessible, the EIr offers the researcher or general enthusiast a rich and comprehensive reference tool. While the search capabilities need improvement, the quality of the articles and the bibliographies are of a high academic standard.
