Torque Compensation System Based on Permanent Magnet

This paper presents the design, the analysis and the optimization of a permanent magnet coupling with 8 magnetic poles. Numerical finite element method was used for the electromagnetic study. A numerical optimization was carried out. The coupling was built and connected to a magnetic refrigeration prototype in order to offset its torque.
