Continuity Conditions for Insulator–Metal–Insulator–Insulator Structure

In this paper we obtain the continuity relations for a insulator–metal–insulator–insulator (IMII) structure, together with the equations from which the dispersion relation can be obtained. After solving the wave equation for each layer, we use the continuity conditions, thus obtaining a six homogenous boundary conditions, from which the dispersion relation can be obtained. Mention that these equations are very cumbersome to solve, because of the imaginary part of the metal refractive index.
