Quantum Dot Cellular Automata Read Only Memory Using Novel Seven-Input Complex Gate

This presents a 4 × 4 Read Only Memory (ROM) layout designed using a novel gate called 7-input complex gate. This work initially discusses the classification of present day memories followed by the discussion of existing ROM architecture and its components. Then the novel 7-input complex gate is introduced and is used in the Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) implementation of ROM. Finally, the simulation results and comparisons between designs are presented. The new layout is comparable to the existing one in terms of accuracy of results and also, it is more efficient in terms of area and cell count.
