CdTe quantum dots (QDs) encoded polystyrene (PS) microbeads were synthesized in this article. Two or three kinds of QDs with different volume ratios were mixed. The PS microbeads were conjugated with the mixed QDs based on the coupling reaction of the carboxyl groups of QDs and the amino groups on the surface of PS microbeads. The prepared QDs encoded PS beads shown specific fluorescence emission wavelengths and fluorescence intensities, which could be used as the support of specific bio-recognition in liquid biochips.
