Remote Detection System for Oil-Water Interface in Small Hole with Automatic Calibration
Herein, a novel capacitive probe sensors with different length was proposed, and the principles of oil-water interface detection are studied. Based on the Nios II in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), Manchester code was used to communicate between downhole and ground. The information of oil water interface was measured with precision frequency method. The detailed experimental results show that the system can be compensated automatically for the change of permittivity and thus it can adapt to remote detection in small hole with good repeatability and stability. Further, such sensors can measure the oil-water interface with accuracy of 1 mm.
