The progress of the telecommunications industry depends on the large-scale manufacture of low-cost, high-performance, reliability and passivity miniaturization circuits. This work proposes a microstrip antenna with periodic ceramic substrate. To improve the performance of the proposed antenna, the dielectric ceramic BiNbO4 doped with V2O5 was used with a network of air holes, since these ceramics provide significant advantages in terms of compaction, weight, thermal stability and low cost of production in microwaves, taking integration with other microwave integrated circuits. The microstrip antenna was modeled and simulated using commercial HFSS software. Parameters such as return loss, radiation pattern, gain and directivity were analyzed. Through the simulations, it was possible to observe an improvement in the performance of these parameters when compared to antennas that use non-ceramic substrates or with ceramic but without the periodic network.
