Web Application Trap Password for Safe Online Transactions
Online Banking or virtual banking is an electronic payment system that enables customers of a financial institution to conduct financial transactions on a website operated by that institution. To access online banking, a customer would go to the financial institution’s secured
website, and enter the online banking facility using the customer number and password previously setup by that financial institution. The websites are not aware of the user there only aware of the customer number and password. If a genuine user is life threatened to obtain his account details
then the threatening person can make any financial transactions on that account. If he doesn’t give his account details it may cause problems to genuine user. So we propose an idea to create a functionality which provide a decoy account where user when enter into account with a trap
password which allows them to do fake payment which will be rollback after the investigation of that financial institution. Here the genuine user remains safe even he gives the account details to the frightening person.
