In this paper we propose an extension of the three parameter Burr XII model and discusses its utility in survivorship applications. Several statistical and reliability properties of the new model are obtained. Estimation and inference procedure for distribution parameters are investigated. Finally, the results are applied on a real data set by fitting the distribution. The findings indicated that the estimates of the parameters of the new model are more efficient than those obtained from the original distribution.
