This work is implements Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) and distributed generation (DG) unit on radial distribution system to eliminate the power quality issues. UPQC is modelled using equations and implementation is done on 33bus system. The analysis will be done using two optimization technique and the techniques will be compared to analyze the techniques giving best result. The parameters to be analyzed using optimization techniques will be losses, real and reactive power, harmonics etc. All the techniques are implemented in MATLAB.

Keywords: Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm; Custom Power Device; Firefly Algorithm; Power Quality; Unified Power Quality Conditioner
