Research on Data Mining and Visualization Technology for Numerical Simulation Data Based on the PDM Platform

With the widespread applications of numerical simulation and improvement of informatization in foundry enterprises, in aspect of numerical simulation, enterprises have accumulated a large number of simulation data and documents; in aspect of informatization, enterprises have their own information management software such as PDM, ERP and so on. However, judging from the current situation, these two aspects have not integrated well. One reason is that the existing PDM systems are inconvenient and inefficient for designers to mine data of numerical simulation and then help them make out process plans of product's numerical simulation. Therefore, this paper firstly proposes a integration framework of data based on PDM platform. By analyzing the structure and special contents, simple and effective data is mined from those massive and complicated data of numerical simulation of casting. Then those simple and effective data is shared on line and then organized to knowledge base for enterprises. In addition, visualization techniques of numerical simulation pre-processing and post-processing data on the PDM platform are deeply researched. Finally, a case that mining massive numerical simulation data generated by HZCAE illustrates the application of this study.
