The Geometric-Arithmetic Index of Nanotubes
The geometric-arithmetic (GA) index is a newly proposed graph invariant in mathematical chemistry. The geometric-arithmetic index of a graph G is defined as GA(G) = Σe∈E(G)2√dudv/(du+dv), where du (or dv) is the degree the vertex u (or v). A nanostructure is an object of intermediate size between molecular and microscopic structures. The most important of these new materials are carbon nanotubes. The GA index of some nanotubes are computed in this paper.
