Enzyme-Free Ultrasensitive Electrochemical Immunoassay Based on the Strategy of Converting Titanium Phosphate Nanospheres into Redox Active Molybdophosphate

An enzyme-free electrochemical immunosensor was developed for the detection of C-reactive protein (CRP) based on the strategy of converting titanium phosphate nanospheres into redox active molybdophosphate. Remarkably, the current signal was derived from redox-active molybdophosphate precipitates transformed by TiPs reacted with the addition of molybdate, which can simplify the signal transmission process and enhance the detection signal sharply. The influence of the dissolved oxygen in the electrolyte may be reduced because the working potential of +0.14 V was adopted for the electrochemical immunoassay. Consequently, the designed immunosensor presented an ultrasensitive performance, affording a linear detection range from 0.5 pg/mL to 0.5 ng/mL with a limit of detection of 0.17 pg/mL. The specificity, reproducibility and stability were also studied with good satisfaction. Overall, the proposed immunosensor has significant potential in clinical diagnostics.
