Effect of Cenosphere from Flyash on DC Conductivity of Chopped Sisal Fiber-Polypropylene Composites
This paper reports the d.c. conductivity behaviour of power plant cenosphere obtained from flyash filled chopped sisal fibre reinforced polypropylene composites. Treated and untreated cenosphere with different concentration were loaded with chopped sisal in polypropylene. The loading
of the polypropylene with the chopped sisal fiber and cenosphere increases the dc conductivity σ
dc. d.c. conductivity increases on increase of cenosphere content from 0.02 to 0.08 weight %. The activation energy values for untreated composites (2, 4, 6, 8 phr) are 5.52,
6.85, 7.03 and 8.37 eV respectively which shows decrease in activation energy with increase of cenosphere content.
