Combined Effects of Magnetic and Electric Fields on a Hydrogenic Impurity Binding Energy in a GaAs/GaAlAs Quantum Disc
Simultaneous effects of magnetic and electric fields on the hydrogenic binding energies and some nonlinear optical properties are investigated in a GaAs/Ga0.8Al0.2As quantum disc taking into account the geometrical confinement which includes the axial and radial confinement of the quantum disk. The nonlinear optical properties include the studies of optical rectification coefficients, second order and the third order harmonic generation coefficients. They are found as a function of photon energy for various values of magnetic and electric fields. The magnetic and electric fields induced second and third harmonic generation are brought out. It is observed that the nonlinear optical properties have more influence on the applied external perturbations. The results are in good agreement with the recent investigations.
