Effects of the Main Compositions in Bath on the Surface Topography and Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution of Ni–Mo Alloy Films
The Ni–Mo alloy electrodes were prepared by electrodeposition technique with citric acid as a complexing agent. The influence of main compositions in bath such as the concentration of Na2MoO4·2H2O, the concentration of NiSO4·6H2O
and the concentration of sodium citrate on the microstructure and surface morphology of Ni–Mo alloy electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The hydrogen evolution reaction of Ni–Mo alloy electrodes were investigated in alkaline solution by the method
of the cathode polarization curves. The results showed that the excellent Ni–Mo alloy electrodes with excellent electrocatalytic activities for hydrogen evolution were obtained when the concentration of Na2MoO4·2H2O was 15 g/L, the concentration
of NiSO4·6H2 O was 40 g/L, the concentration of sodium citrate concentration was 40 g/L.
