Livestock sector is one of the driving forces for the feat of human resource development. Hence, its contribution, the availability of animal protein sources, supported by the increase of consumption for young generations and children is important and strategic. This effort requires highly-skilled human resources who are ready to take part in this field, in order to accompany farmers as well as our community in a sustainable manner. Vocational colleges within farm field are designed to generate human resources that own technical skills related to livestock commodities. However, it turns out that the attempt to chase high productivity without balance with developing public awareness of the importance of community’s livestock industry will cause higher rate of consumption dependency on imported farm products. Therefore, the development of vocational higher education within livestock sector are demanded to generate empowerment agencies which are not only competent in economic and technical field, but also in socio-cultural realm.
