Implementation of Locality in the Interior to Strength the Identity of Indonesian Culture (Case Study: Ultimate Terminal 3 Soekarno Hatta International Airport Food Court)
Indonesia is a rich country with more than 300 ethnic groups. Each of them has its own identity that developed and influenced by multitude of religion. The result is a complex and unique cultural mixture that different from the original cultures. But not all Indonesian culture is known
by the foreign community, they only know Bali and batik as Indonesian culture. The influence of globalization trends makes Indonesia lose its main characteristic, especially in design. Through shape grammar techniques and a touch of interior design style, tenun motif and batik are expected
to translate into decorative elements with high locality value that can be the identity of Indonesian interior design. The result can be applied to interior decoration design at food court in Ultimate Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta airport that able to lift Indonesian identity. The analogy method
is used to combine the original motifs and styles in interior design so that it can answer the needs of the era both in function and aesthetics.
