Abrasion is defined as the extension of the coastline from its original position. Coastline changes can be caused by natural factors and human activities. Kedung beach in Jepara is one of many beaches which the coastline had been changed. In the 1980s, Tunggul Tlare and Bulak Baru villages were hit by wave abrasion, resulted in as many as 175 families in Tunggal Tlare village and 500 families in Bulak Baru were forced to move because their settlements were eroded. The purpose of the research is to create a protection plan along the coastline of Kedung Jepara coastline from Kedung Malang to Tanggul Tlare villages. The structures of coastline protection will serve to dampen the wave energy. The analysis of windrose of wind data for 10 years shows that the wind from the Northwest is dominant. Simulation of coastline change is conducted using GENESIS software. Alternative protection structures were analyzed based on the coastline conditions related with the building of coastal protection structures.
