Modelling Water Energy Recovery System Using MATLAB/Simulink Software

The objective of this paper is to develop a simulation tool for water energy recovery system. It is important to invest in technologies that aim to harvest excess energy/pressure considering the unstable use of water on the world level. This paper presents three models that form part of the energy recovery system. The models comprised of energy recovery turbine, Drive Train and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG). MATLAB/Simulink software was used to model each component of the water energy recovery system. It is shown that the models can be integrated to form a complete model for water energy recovery system. Developers of conduit hydropower can use the model during the planning stage.
