Cervical cancer could be holistically prevented if timely identification of precancerous lesions is followed by effective treatment. Mostly in developing countries, the treatment of precancer cervical lesion is often neglected because therapeutic services are unavailable, inaccessible, inappropriate, or inadequate if linked with screening services. One of many ablative methods designed to remove the abnormal transformation zone in precancer cervical lesion is cryotherapy. This is a suitable therapy in Indonesia considering that it is relatively simple, safe, effective, acceptable, and appropriate outpatient procedure for the treatment of precancer. According to those background, this study was designed to show the outcome of cryotherapy in transformation zone for precancer cervical lesions patients which identified by VIA (Visual inspection with acetic acid) examination. We reviewed the medical record of patients with retrospective method who was diagnosed with cervical precancer lesion or recurrent cervicitis on 2016 in Jatinegara primary health care (PHC). The patients which had treated with cryotherapy are followed and evaluated for its result in first and second control. As many as 564 women undergone VIA examination in 2016 at Jatinegara primary health care with 56 women (9.9%) were VIA positive and 3 women (0.005%) were suspected with cervical cancer. From those 56 patients, 24 of them (55%) were enrolled for cryotherphy. Controls were performed in the first and sixth months after cryotherapy with 95,8% of patients have checked at the first control after cryotherapy and there were no side effects were felt by the patients except one patient with spotting complaints. Second control (6th month after cryotherapy) serves to assess cervical reepithelization and reassessment of VIA examination. From 62.5% (15 patients who have checked in the 6th month), the result of the VIA examination were 100% negatives. Cryotherapy is promising treatment for pre-cancer lesion in Indonesia considering its enabling features and efficacy.
