Determination Aquaculture Area in Thanh Phu District, Ben Tre Province, Vietnam Using Remote Sensing Technology
Thanh Phu was one of three coastal districts in BenTre province which was suitable for brackish aquaculture. In some recent year, this areas was affected on climate change which an affected on the decrease of farm production. The aim of this study to determine aquaculture in Thanh Phu
district through remote sensing and GIS. This research was applied three indexes as NDVI, MNDWI and NDBaI to analysed Landsat8 remote sensing data. Three index were determined aquaculture areas and ineffective aquaculture. This research found total aquaculture area is about 13,093.65 ha and
ineffective aquaculture about 581.49 ha. The least region is the 1st ecoregion, where is so far from the sea, it is about 1.02 ha (0.18%). Besides, the 4th ecoregion is the largest region with accounting over 73.92% of ineffective aquaculture because climate change complicatedly.
