Effects of Cooperative Learning Strategies in Living Skills Lesson Among Secondary School

This study was carried out to investigate whether the strategy STAD cooperative learning model can improve student SMK Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. Experimental studies have been carried out for a month. The sample consisted of 50 male students who took the course design Hidip skills. The sample is divided into two groups. 25 students control group consisted of students from Form J Bios. While another 25 student’s experimental group consisting of Form 3 Cimos. Experimental group was treated on STAD model cooperative approach, while the control group was not given any treatment contrary to the process of teaching as usual from their teachers. The instrument was used in this study is a set of questionnaire and question experiment PT3 2015. The questionnaire is divided into two parts, part A is to gel the background information of the respondents. Part B contains those items that are of relevance to the research questions. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 the Statistical Package for the Social Science Version 20.0 to obtain mean, frequency, percentage and standard deviation. The pilot study was conducted to see the reliability and suitability questionnaire. The findings showed that the overall mean for the level of student motivation is 3:10, the level of participation and interaction between students is 3.19 a level of perception of the 3.14 level of performance of students is 3:30. On the whole, it was found that the level of student achievement is the most dominant factor in the practice of cooperative learning among students in Form 3 Kubu Bharu Selangor. The findings indicate the level of student achievement are at a high level. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that cooperative learning model STAD has managed to improve the performance of students through course work and a written test, in the course of designing the program at a secondary school.
