The aim of this study is to examine the content validity of Adversity Quotient (AQ) for IKBAR measurement instrument for Malaysian polytechnic students. IKBAR has 220 items which measured four main constructs based on the CORE model by Stoltz (1997), namely Control, Ownership, Reach
and Endurance. The analysis examined using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) based on the Lawshe Validity Model (1975). This study was conducted through the evaluation of written and online questionnaires on nine experts selected via purposive sampling. The panel of nine professional experts
from the university with expertise in psychology, measurement and linguistics were chosen to evaluate the content validity of IKBAR. The CVR’s critical value that must be adhered to 0.653 (N = 9) for the purpose of refining the items. Based on the evaluation by the experts, 129
items shows the CVR values less than 0.653 needs to be refined. The results indicated that IKBAR should be reassessed its psychometric properties using more robust psychometric theory, such as Rasch measurement model for further item refinement of the instrument.
