Access Policy of UIANA Collection in the Library University of Indonesia
This research is motivated by differences in access policy to the repository collection called UIANA in the University of Indonesia. UIANA collection includes gray literature such as thesis, dissertations, non seminar papers, research reports, proceedings and other scientific work of Civitas UI. This paper conducted research to synthesize the implementation of access policy especially for UIANA collection in UI with the constraints found in the field. This paper also revealed character of the representation of the implementation of access policy on UIANA collection at the University of Indonesia This study used a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is a form of interpretation of research where researchers make an interpretation of what the researchers see, hear and understand. In this study, researchers wish to obtain the views of policy-related stakeholders to the access policy in institutional repository on Universitas Indonesia’s Library and get a description of the problem or issue relating to the access policy to the institutional repository in the overall UI Library. This study uses the case study method. In this research, the establishment of policies involving existing office holders on organizational and managerial processes. The result of this research is institutional repository called UIANA Collection at the University of Indonesia has not run well in fully. Access policies that have created are still not consistent so it tends to confuse the user. Universities need to create a rule that is written and binding as an effort to collect all scientific papers produced by Civitas UI.
