The Study of Matching Professions for Undergraduate Students Majoring in Logistic Management at North Bangkok University

Thailand has been actively carrying out policies that are transforming all aspects of its national transport infrastructure to make it becomes competitive globally. This draws many interests including the universities. The problem of needing to have a greater enrollment, especially, in private universities versus a popular academic concern, which is “what the student should really get after finishing the program,” creating a massive contradiction within the curriculums. Such marketing factors like, “a job guaranteed,” “offering internships,” or “being the place to learn” can mislead students from the original curriculums. Many private institutions have mixed and promoted these activities unintentionally. They believe that it would become one of their primary thrusts to enable their students to become critical independent thinkers with having a sense of ownership in learning process. This is why students are misled into more of a non-skillful labor, because after finishing the program(s), they would still have to find a job by themselves. Do they need a job more than learning? Trust, this study will help re-directing student’s decision in job selecting, rather than suffering from grabbing whatever that may comes in first. One hundred students taking up Logistics Management at North Bangkok University took part in this assessment.
