Human Resource Practices and Retention: Academicians Perspective

Retaining academicians has been a burgeoning problem for developing countries especially in the education sector. In Malaysia, academicians are seen as a workforce that can contribute to the development of the country, towards realizing the Vision 2020. The present study examines the Human Resource (HR) practices in the private higher education’s settings in relation to retention of academicians’. Quantitative analysis results in general reveal that academicians indicate a positive relationship of HR practices on retention. This study can be a guide to devise effective implementation of strategies to improve academicians retention.
