In this study, we try to understand the heterogeneity of the elderly poverty status and poverty status shift by combining the data of the 2nd year and 10th year of the Korea Welfare Panel. The characteristics of the elderly are heterogeneous according to the status of poverty and the status of poverty, but the elderly poor are concentrated in a specific group. In other words, the elderly who are women, the elderly without school, the elderly with no spouses, the elderly with households, and the elderly who do not participate in economic activities are likely to belong to the poverty group and their poverty is likely to persist.
