Literature on entrepreneurship mainly focuses on business entrepreneurship than social entrepreneurship. In fact, most studies are centered on large-scale businesses and professional entrepreneurs to create social transformation in the community. Literature on entrepreneurship suggests that entrepreneurs’ motivation to contribute to social wellbeing is influenced by internal and external factors. Research on entrepreneurial intention has received utmost attention by scholars. Nonetheless, research on intention of social entrepreneur is scant. This is important as social entrepreneurs’ intentions are somewhat differing from business entrepreneurs’ due to the objectives of the venture endeavor. The objective of this study is to review the social intention literature within the context of young social entrepreneur. This study also proposes a conceptual model to further understand the motivational factors contributing to young social entrepreneurs’ intention to start social activities. This model, which enhances understanding of social intention among young social entrepreneurs, enriches the theories of social entrepreneurship.
