Views of Deviants on Religious Practices During Childhood
This paper presents the experiences of deviants regarding their childhood and how religious practices are taught. Social development in this matter is considered to be increasing crucial for understanding the importance of religion in reducing antisocial behavior. As this preliminary
study focused on two deviants who were punished by the law and currently volunteer to be in the Cure and Care Services Centre in order to be treated due to addiction over illegal substances. Data were collected through semi-structured face to face interview and narrative analysis was done
to generate results. The result indicates that religious practices help to reduce the risk of misbehavior and roles of adults are important in assisting children to grow up well. We suggest future research to involve female deviants, more than two deviants as well as intervention. This is
to future enhance understanding on how religion can help to reduce risk of antisocial.
