This comparative study focuses on the readiness of mathematics teachers in Malaysia and Indonesia to apply information and communication technology (ICT) in their teaching and learning. This study aims to determine the intermediary role of ICT facilities in the relationship between the readiness of teachers and their ICT application in teaching and learning mathematics. Readiness is inclusive of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of teachers toward ICT. A total of 700 and 800 mathematics teachers in Malaysia and Indonesia participated in this study. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 18 software. A pilot study was conducted on 200 mathematics teachers, and the research instrument demonstrated a high reliability ranging between 0.82 and 0.94. Our findings reveal that teachers in Malaysia and Indonesia have the same level of ICT application. However, those in Malaysia have higher ICT knowledge and skills compared with those in Indonesia. By contrast, the mathematics teachers in Indonesia have a more positive attitude toward ICT than Malaysian teachers. The SEM analysis results indicate that ICT facility is a significant mediator in the relationship between the readiness of teachers and their ICT application in teaching and learning mathematics. This study aims to provide valuable inputs to improve the national educational system in both countries.
