Optimum Design of Natural Fiber Reinforced Brake Friction Material Using Hybrid Entropy-VIKOR Approach
This article develops an evaluation method based on hybrid entropy-VIKOR (Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija Kompromisno Resenje) approach in order to select the optimum friction formulation according to several performance defining criterions which are probably conflicting. Brake friction
composite materials reinforced with natural fibre were designed fabricated and tested on a chase type friction tester. The results obtained were considered as criterion for the ranking of friction materials. Entropy is used to calculate the weight for each criterion, while VIKOR is employed
to determine the complete ranking of the formulations. The results show that the formulation with 10 wt% of natural fibre exhibits the optimal properties.
