Mismatch Effect of Two Electrodes on the Extraction Efficiency in a Taper Light Emitting Diode

In a truncated inverted pyramid LED, the mismatch effect of two electrodes on the extraction efficiency has been analyzed. When the discrepancy between upper and lower electrodes is 150 um, the ray extraction efficiency has the maximum of 48% and the mean photon path length within the die has the minimum of 174 um. The effect of emitting layer height within the substrate on the light extraction efficiency has also been studied.
